El suelo de Oregon

June 29, 2022
(Dato curioso: Oregon...

Rocks of Oregon

May 31, 2022
You can see it from any airplane window: Oregon’s rippled landscape of forested mountain ranges (a whopping 50 to be exact) is a large, patchwork blanket covering the Earth. From the Coast Range to the Cascade Range to the Blue Mountains to the Siskiyou Mountains, these geologic marvels are the reason Oregonians are so unabashedly outdoorsy. Who can blame us when there are volcanos like Mt. Hood to traverse, crags like those at Smith Rock to climb, prehistoric fossil beds like the Painted Hills to...

Celebrate Indigenous Oregon

October 8, 2021
Local Tribes have long fished Oregon’s wild rivers and great waterfalls, like the now submerged Celilo Falls on the mighty Columbia River. They’ve scored petroglyphs in rock canyons like those at Picture Rock Pass and left behind the world’s oldest pair of footwear (9,000-year-old sandals) at Fort Rock. Proud ancestors of those first people make up nine federally recognized Tribes of Oregon. These are their stories.

Fall into Oregon

It’s one of Oregon’s best-kept secrets: fall just might be the best time to take a road trip. The summertime crowds have gone, the weather is blissful and many towns host all sorts of enticing shoulder-season events to draw visitors out.

Oregon Wine Country

Oregon wine country has come a long way since its humble beginnings when a few rogue dreamers planted vines in the Willamette Valley. The state’s wine scene has blossomed to more than 600 wineries in 18 distinct growing areas (also known as American Viticultural Areas, or AVAs) and is the third largest wine-grape-producing state in the nation. Our talented vintners regularly earn international and national accolades. And yet that early spirit of modesty remains. Oregon wineries, often family- owned, focus on small-batch, high-quality production. Visit...

Enchanting Oregon Theaters

Throughout the year, Oregon’s theaters and performance venues provide a steady setlist of internationally acclaimed live theater, music and dance.  The beloved and Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland is known for its world-class productions including plays, tours and immersive experiences for all ages. But there’s much more to theater in this region than the Shakespeare scene. Across Southern Oregon, you’ll find an incredible lineup of theaters showcasing all types of live entertainment, from magic shows and comedy to Broadway hits and rock bands.

Outdoor Getaways

After a day of fresh air and adventure, you’ll need the perfect place to recharge. Oregon is home to some of the most picturesque camping spots in the world. You don’t have to sacrifice modern-day comforts: Try staying in one of the many cabins, yurts, tipis, alpine huts, tree houses, tiny houses, campers or any-place-elsers that Oregon has to offer.
