We ordered the silver flight of wines, pizza and the hamburger. Food was delicious! Not super friendly like everywhere else we have been, but if you get beyond that, there is good ambience, food and wine!
This was are first trip there and we were delightfully surprised. The owners built the wine tasting room/restaurant by using the trees on their property and had the wood milled and the structure was built from that wood. They did a beautiful job. Even the bar was made from their trees. The owner couldn’t have been nicer. She made several trips to our table to see if everything was ok. We had a delicious wood fire pizza, perfect size for two. . The wine tasting was very nice and the view was beautiful. There is quite a bit of seating, especially outdoors. We will return for sure next time we are in Hood River.
Sadly, I can’t rate the wine because we weren’t even able to get anyone to help us. It was very busy but there were plenty of tables open. No signage to say whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We stood near the bar waiting for someone to talk to us. The bar tender finally acknowledged us by gruffly telling us to grab a table. We asked a question and he either didn’t hear or ignored us. So we left. I’ve been to many wineries all over the country and never had an experience like this. If you want service and friendliness at your winery go to Wy’East or Cathedral Ridge
We have gone here several times in the last few years and it seems our last 2 visits have been unsatisfactory. The wine and service in our opinion has gone downhill. On our last trip we ordered two glasses of wine, pizza and sandwich. We ended up ordering a third glass of wine because the first was bad. After 40 minutes and no food I went to check the order. At first they couldn’t find our order on the computer. They finally found it and realized it was never printed and given to the cook. I was told it would be put on rush. After 20 more minutes and no food we cancelled the order and paid for the wine, 2 of the glasses weren’t even drunk. We will not be going back.
We stopped in here with our kids during our trip through Hood River wine region. The winery itself is beautiful. I loved the look and the outdoor seating areas. The guy seating us wasn’t exactly Mr. Charming but whatever. The wine flight was great. We tried 2 different types and both were good. We also ordered 2 pizzas and a bratwurst. All hit the spot. It was definitely a nice visit and we would go again. Enjoy!
