In the Portland Region, West Linn’s Historic Willamette neighborhood continues its wreath contest and holiday events including a holiday market and Hillsboro puts on its annual Holly Days Celebration and tree lighting. In the Willamette Valley, McMinnville‘s ‘Twere the Weeks Before Christmas campaign which awards downtown shoppers with various prizes. Downtown Newberg celebrates the season with the Festival of Trees and holiday decorations sprucing up First Street and locally owned businesses. On the Oregon Coast, Reedsport hosts an annual tree-lighting event, the Moonlight Madness shopping event, and a Santa Salmon local business scavenger hunt; while Gold Beach is hosting a community lights competition, meet-and-greet with Santa, ornament crafting and a raffle on Small Business Saturday. In Eastern Oregon, La Grande is decorated for the holidays with a Christmas tree lighting and small business Saturday events throughout December.
