The Paradise Park Trail begins climbing right from the start. The trail climbs via switchbacks along the ridge located on the west side of Zigzag Canyon. At 2.3 miles, there is a viewpoint of the Zigzag River, Ski Bowl and Tom-Dick Ridge. A creek that supplies the first source of water along the trail is located at 4.2 miles. At approximately five miles, the trail connects to the Zigzag Mountain Trail #775. The trail then continues in a northeast direction and in 0.2 miles crosses the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000, which leads to Lost Creek, Rushing Water Creek and eventually Ramona Falls. Following the PCNST south leads to Zigzag Canyon and Timberline Lodge.
The scenery on Paradise Park Trail changes from wooded to alpine meadows and in 0.4 miles the trail ends at its junction with the Paradise Park Loop Trail #757. A short additional loop can be made by heading right on the Loop Trail and returning to the Paradise Park Trail via the PCNST. A longer loop can also be made by heading north on the Loop Trail and returning to the Paradise Park Trail via the PCNST. The southern loop is an additional 1.5 miles while the northern is an additional 3.3 miles.
