The Government Harvey Trailhead accesses the middle section of the Fremont National Recreation Trail which is open to hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bike riders. Accommodations include a parking area that is limited in size and signed trail directions.

Activities offered include fishing in lower reaches of Bear Creek (five miles from trailhead), bird watching, wildlife viewing, wading in Bear Creek, and photography.

Directions: From Paisley: Travel north on Highway 31 and turn left at Govt. Harvey Pass sign post. Travel west on FS Rd. 29 (gravel) for 10 miles to the top of Winter Rim. Turn south on FS Rd. 29. Travel approx. 100 yards to the Winter Rim Trail sign.

Seasonal Access: Normally Open: June-Mid-October (Trail and parking area maintained during these dates.)
