Baker City boasts a charming Historic Downtown District that is home to the Geiser Grand Hotel, built in 1889, and the award-winning Barley Brown’s Brew Pub. Baker City is in Baker County, which includes part of the Snake River and the Oregon Trail, the Hells Canyon National Scenic Byway, and the southern end of the Hells Canyon itself, the deepest rivercarved gorge in North America.
