A Food and Wine Lover’s Guide to Tualatin Valley

Make your own sangria, nibble Malaysian small plates and soak in a spa on your next wine getaway.
May 6, 2025

Just a short drive southwest of Portland at the north end of the Willamette Valley, Tualatin Valley is a top spot to experience the state’s rich wine culture. Here Ponzi Vineyards was founded in 1970, which helped establish Oregon as a world-class wine region. Today Tualatin Valley wineries are thriving, from heritage brands to newcomers like Winery Lane Collective, a collaborative tasting room where you can taste pours from multiple wineries in one space.

Want to try sips from a lot of Oregon wineries at once? Visit one of the region’s many cozy wine bars, then make a trip of it with a comfortable place to rest. Here’s where to drink, dine and stay while celebrating Oregon Wine Month in May in Tualatin Valley.
