Tyee Wine Cellars is located on the scenic Buchanan Family Century Farm founded over 130 years ago in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Five family generations have revered the farm’s open spaces, woodlands, wetlands, and streams while growing crops in a sustainable manner. Merrilee Buchanan Benson, Tyee’s winemaker and vineyard manager, grew up with the vines and winery. The Buchanan family first planted winegrapes in 1974 and started Tyee Wine Cellars in 1985. Tyee Wine Cellars remains a small family operation with much personal attention given to the vines and winemaking. In addition to tasting Tyee Estate Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, and Gewrztraminer, visitors to Tyee enjoy seeing beautiful, historic farmland and Willamette Valley native plants and animals. Tyee’s Estate Vineyard is certified salmon-safe and farmed using organic compost and cover crops.

Classic Oregonian Understated Excellence
Tyee is a true treasure of the Southern Willamette Valley . The setting , attention to detail is extraordinary in the vineyard and orchard . Organic , and blessed with the most gifted winemaker who resides in her vineyard and farm . But this is where it begins . The Wines say it all . About all aspects. The Pinot Noir is remarkable, year after year .Barrel Select , too. An Alsace style dry Gewurztraminer is heavenly , one of the best in North America , The sumptuous Pinot Gris begs for the great local seafood. And an intriguing balanced Chardonnay showing its heritage and shining without wood. Family Owned and loved by many.

Nice afternoon visit
From the welcoming roaring fire in front to the wonderful conversation inside, this was a nice visit. The wines were very good, I only wish they shipped to FLA. I got an acquaintance to put a bottle under for me, and I look forward to going back in the near future

Made my dreams come true!
Tyee hosted my wedding ceremony and reception and the setting was perfect! The rollong hills --with views of Mary's peak -- and beautiful hazelnut grove created the romantic ambience we were looking for. Our guests raved about the wine with the Pinot Gris being the perfect refreshment for the hot day. Brian and the whole Buchanan family were a pleasure to work with throughout our planning process. Their stewardship of the Century Farm is the benchmark for ecocologically minded agricultural land management! The birds and other wildlife helped set the scene on our special day!

Pinot Noir Destination
Small and personal, this family sized winery in the western Wilamette Valley foothills boasts one of the best Pinot Noirs I’ve ever experienced. Cozy tasting room, choose from a variety of wine options, all between $20 and $30 a bottle. 6 miles south of Corvallis on Greenberry Road.
