Oregon Girl’s Trip!
Our day of winery tours started at Ruby! Glenn poured some lovely wines. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and grapes. I feel in love with the Chardonnay! The weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I brought home a few bottles and looking forward to ordering more!

Highlight of our Oregon trip1
This visit to a Willamette Valley winery was a highlight of our wine tasting in Oregon. We sat looking over this incredible view in the sunshine; we could faintly see the Mount Hood snow-capped summit from the delightful patio and we were treated to some delicious Oregon wines accompanied by a substantial cheese and charcuterie plate. We found most of the wines to be of high quality and delicious. Our charming guide Eric, was very knowledgeable and made the whole wine-tasting experience very interesting. He left at appropriate times so we could discuss the wines and enjoy the peace and quiet which was very soothing to our souls after the busyness of the cities. Another plus was that Ruby Vineyard and Winery was only a short distance from the suburbs of Portland, with a drive through lovely countryside. We left with 6 favorite bottles, which we were able to consume on our journey with some left over for home! We can now highly recommend this Ruby Vineyard wine-tasting experience and their sustainably raised organic wines, particularly the Hendricks Pinot Noir. We were also unexpectedly pleasantly surprised by the quality of the White Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay. We said we would be back and asked them to build a small bed and breakfast next to their patios, so we could stay and enjoy their view and wines longer!

LOCALS KNOW; VISITORS SHOULD
If you are a visitor and plan a Valley wine tour, put this little place on your list and save yourself lots of time and effort. Ruby is one of the closest vineyards to Hillsboro and the wine valley tour sites. If you are looking for pretentious, fancy, stuffy and expensive...pass. If your prefer friendly, casual, lovely views, folks who understand what wine is about- hospitality and fun, this is your spot. The owners will be there, the staff will greet you warmly and the tastings are great. Learn about the vines on property, their other sources, Andrew, the winemaker, the history of the place, Steve's family that came west on The Trail, how he and Flora met and other tales. Look at the back of the bottles and note the small production...this is boutique without the attitude. Handcrafted? That is an understatement. Each varietal is an experience. Steve and Andrew are very careful...it has to be right. Pinot Noir is a pesky grape. It is stubborn, like a child having a tantrum until you pick it up and give it a hug. Ruby hugs its grapes. There is a reason this is one of our favorite wine clubs.

Friendly feel with amazing wine!
Found Ruby ‘by accident’ on the way home from a weekend in OR wine country and wow, WHAT AN AMAZING FIND!!! We became club members after our second visit and we haven’t looked back. In fact, this is the only wine club we are in right now because the wine is THAT good. The whole team at Ruby are just lovely. The wine is beautiful and the views of Hood on a clear day are phenomenal. Try it, you will not regret it!!

Wild flower filled country side beautiful deck and nice wines
Our group of 6 visited Ruby Vineyard and Winery on a beautiful summer weekend day. They were not as busy as some of the other wineries we've visited; we were here around 2 pm We sat at the deck that had colorful sunbrellas set up, you can see colorful wildflowers that lined the road, for as far as your eyes can see. They serve the wines in these glasses with "punts", never seen them before. We enjoyed a variety of pinot gris, pinot noir, and rose. Ended up purchasing some pinot gris. $20 pp tasting fee, waived only with $75 purchase.
