Native Flora is a small, secluded vineyard and winery hidden high in the famed Dundee Hills. Founded in 2005, the winery strives to produce premium estate wines in limited quantities for people who enjoy great wine, a good laugh, natural beauty and a more personal wine experience.Surrounded on three sides by forest and open sky on the fourth, the physical site is a haven from bustle, and a setting for stunning vistas. There is an inherent sense of tranquility filled with plenty of purpose. Visitors readily agree the vineyard truly is a sanctum – a private place where one is free from intrusion. Despite the inherent exclusivity of Native Flora’s diminutive size, owners Scott and Denise Flora remain down to earth, hospitable, and enthusiastic about sharing their chosen path in life. Their aim is to enlist you not just as a customer, but as a new friend and fellow enthusiast of good wines and places. The winery, tasting areas and home are all rolled into one surprising structure and endeavor. When you walk into Native Flora’s tasting room you have literally walked into their life.

Wonderful Wines, Delightful People
Native Flora is a very unique place to visit. Scott and Denise Flora, the owners, are warm and welcoming to their upscale, sustainable winery/vineyard. This time we were there to taste and pick up a case of mixed whites, though their wide range of reds and bubbles have a wine for every palette and menu. Did I mention the trio of Great Pyrenes' who guard the herd of vineyard mowing sheep? Or the Koi tank? or the rainwater capture and reuse system? visit soon 👍🍾🍷🐶

An Exceptional Winery and a Very Engaging Host/Owner
My wife and I just returned from a 2.5 day trip to the Oregon wine country, and some folks at our local B&B in Carlton, OR told us about this really great, small winery in nearby Newberg (Native Flora). We are able to get an appointment the next day due to a cancellation, and we are SO GLAD that this opportunity fell into our lap. Scott (the founder) was an extremely gracious host. We spent 2+ hours tasting several varieties of Native Flora's white and red wines and hearing Scott talk about his "contrarian" approach to growing the grapes as well as his approach to developing the wines we tasted. It was extremely informative and fun, and oh, BTW, his wines were excellent! He is a genius, who combines science and alchemy in the development of his wines. If you're in the Willamette Valley, Native Flora is a MUST visit (assuming you can get an appointment).

Highly recommend!
The view here is beautiful and the tasting is more private and intimate than other vineyards. But most importantly, the wine is excellent! Very dry whites, champagnes, and rose. Outstanding Pinots.

Home to creative, somewhat provocative, ambassadors of happiness
This tasting was a special treat for us. The views, facility, wines, mower-mouth sheep, white watchdog (Stella…so sweet), and interactions with the owner.(Scott) really stood out from the pack. Scott is a mix of scientist, artist, and entrepreneur. He thoroughly loves all aspects of the second-life existence that he’s created up in the hill. His passion shows through in the property, wines, naming of wines, copy for wine labels, etc. His pinots are magnificent and are at a great price point. For perspective, we’d purchased other, higher-priced wine earlier in the day and soon regretted it. This was better and cheaper. We signed up for the club with no reservations. You’ll love this experience.

Best Winery in Oregon
Scott and Denise are phenomenal hosts. When you pull up to the gate, you immediately realize that you are in a special place. As you drive up the hill, the views are stunning, and the Flora’s home (compound) and tasting room is equally impressive. Then there’s the wine. Wow. As Scott pours his award winning wines, you immediately realize that you are learning from a master winemaker. His descriptions of the tasting notes are as unique as his bottle labels. He has broken all of the “rules” and his wine is proof that rules were meant to be broken. Bottom line - you should visit Native Flora.
