Idiot’s Grace is a farm and winery in Mosier, Oregon, established in 2002. Farming more than one hundred varieties of fruit trees and vines; many of their cherry trees are more than a century old. The wines are wild-fermented, made with grapes grown on the farm and on a small handful of sites elsewhere in the Columbia Gorge.
Their aim is to make original American wines that express the specific character of their hillside in Mosier. The farm is certified organic.
Four of us visited on a sunny March day. WINE: 2.5. The wine flights were not to our taste, but might match your's. AMBIANCE: 3.5. Limited indoor seating, much outdoor seating at picnic tables next to oak forest. Farm setting accessed via short unpaved farm road (driveway). SERVICE: 4.0.
We arrived 15 before opening and were welcomed to sit under the arbor to wait. The hostess explained the wines well. The wines were tasty. The tasting was very leisurely. A very pleasant experience.
This small winery just outside of Mosier is not to be missed. The staff are knowledgeable and personable and the wines are complex and of course delicious. We felt very welcomed and important to the winery. After a tasting of 6 wines we left with 4 of the wines. Great outside seating with warm heaters.
Went to HR for the Fruit Loop but it’s become too popular with so many people. So, we traveled another 6 miles to Moiser. Great find👍
We were in Hood River for the night and drove to Mosier to visit Idiot’s Grace winery. It’s a very cute and friendly winery that has organic wines that are all very nice. Ann was our hostess and she was very friendly and informative. It was a pleasant visit and I took home some great wine. Btw- don’t follow your gps once you are in Mosier. Look at a map as it is quite simple to find and the gps has you turning into some condos and indicates that you have reached your destination.
