Anam Cara wines are handcrafted from grapes we grow and carefully farm ourselves in the Nicholas Estate Vineyard set in the Chehalem Mountains. We believe that giving the vineyard our daily attention encourages the best fruit possible the basis for wines we are proud to share. The words Anam Cara are Celtic for “friend of my soul” and represent the connection between the vineyard we planted and friends who share its wines. Enjoy these wines at our downtown Newberg tasting room.

This is one of the good ones!
Always a great experience with Sheila and the staff. The wines are amazing across the board. We bring out of town family and friends here as a must stop through the Willamette Valley. Put this one on your list
As soon as we walked in we were visiting with Linda, who basically walked in with us. We thought she was another customer. After visiting for a few minutes she was asked to come help out, although there were only another couple of people ‘tasting’. That,s when we realized she worked there. So she helped us with our ‘tasting’, but continued to be friendly and informative. One of us did join the wine club and we will all be back often. Linda was just a joy to be around.
Lovely place. Very friendly. Great time. Lovely wine. Very reasonable. Not every wine is great. But you will find one that stands out. I promise.
Outstanding wines and friendly people
We had a great visit and spent time tasting great wine. Everyone was very helpful with ideas and recommendations. Nick and Sheila are great hosts. A must visit in Newberg
Best Stop in Newberg
In an unassuming little building just a couple blocks off 99W, the Anam Cara Winery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere to sample some of Oregon's best pinot noir. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we made our annual pilgrimage to the Willamette Valley to seek out the newest releases of wine. We were not disappointed. The Anam Cara Cellars tasting room has a cozy feel. There is sufficient room for standing at the counter as well as comfortable chairs, good natural light and friendly hosts. The staff are very knowledgeable, and love talking about their products. This is one of my favorite stops, and the one I most look forward to making. While not the big fancy tasting rooms so many other wineries put forth, the Anam Cara Cellars tasting room is more like your neighborhood bar - comfortable, with no judgemental looks or condescension. Truly a place you want to be. And the wine is so good. Especially the 2011 Heather's Vineyard and Mark VI pinot noirs.
