Located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Abbott Claim is perched atop the Savannah Ridge, a 170-acre boundary that hosts some of the oldest soils in the Willamette Valley. As the next generation of stewards of this land, the team has implemented organic and regenerative farming practices in the vineyard and its surroundings since 2018, crafting examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that truly speak to place.

Special wine tasting in Oregon
Fabulous tour and tasting at the beautiful Abbott Claim. These are top wines in Oregon in a beautiful spot. These tasting amongst the barrels was lovely and immersive. This isn’t a regular tasting and these are regular wines. Top experience and fantastic wines.

A Must Go.
I have visited Abbott Claim on multiple occasions. I am a member of the Oregon Wine Industry - so know when I say this is a truly special experience, that I mean it and I have a lot of other experiences to compare it to. The multiple visits should tell you enough about how special this place is. You will be hosted individually, not sharing your hosts attention with other groups. The experience is refined and quiet, allowing for you to take your time and enjoy it at your own pace. The grounds are well cared for, the building and caves are in pristine condition and the design is so thoughtful and unique. Our most recent host Jay, was an absolute pleasure and very knowledgeable. All of this is in excellent companionship to the purpose of the visit, which is, of course, the wines. These wines are crafted with expression of place in mind, and they really do perform. This is one of, if not the single best experience to showcase Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Valley. If you're visiting the area, Abbott Claim is a must.

Candlelit charm, impeccable hospitality
We learned about Abbott Claim while tasting at another winery, and just had to go explore for ourselves even though it was too late to make a reservation. We arrived and found a friendly gentleman working in the herb garden, who immediately dropped everything and arranged an unexpected tour and tasting - they went above and beyond to accommodate our unannounced arrival. We were ushered in by the delightful Ian Burrows and proceeded to their underground Caves, which felt like a trip straight to Europe. Seated in this exquisite gravel floored, candlelit space we were treated to some incredible wines while cozied under the woolen blankets provided, accompanied by a delicious caviar bite prepared tableside. Ian’s descriptions of the wines as well as his relating of the history, techniques, and ethos of this winery and its founders were authoritative yet completely unpretentious and approachable. Needless to say we came home with some very special additions to our cellars. Do not miss this stop - highly recommend!

Highest level wines, great experience, beautiful spot.
The wines are top notch and fairly priced for the quality. Ian Burrows guided us through the samples and the facility, engaging, fun, and knowledgeable. A beautiful part of the Valley, well worth the short detour.
