Dynamic duos. Peanut butter and jelly, Lennon and McCartney, Han Solo and Chewbacca, Jordan and Pippen, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, Will Ferrell and anyone. Sure they’re pretty special on their own, but pair them with their “bestie” and they are instantly elevated to another stratosphere. Following in the footsteps of those legends, Sparrow Bakery has assembled its own mighty duo by pairing its venerable lineup of coffee/tea offerings with a bakery selection worthy of completing the other half of this dance card. Freshnesses is a theme that spans across the entirety of their menu and our favorite coffee/tea selections included their “Cardamom Latte”, “Caramel Latte”, and “Chai Latte.” Our favorite bakery selections included their “Ocean Roll”, “Cinnamon Knot”, “Ham, Thyme, and Gruyere Croissant”, award winning “Bacon Breakfast Sandwich”, and “Lox-Bagel.” If you’re feelin’ a shareable vibe we’d recommend their “French Toast Sticks” which lend themselves well to a family style dining experience. There is frequently a line out the door, but their entirely separate “Express” window is a convenient alternative if you’re making a quick coffee and/or baked goods run. Quick and efficient service (take-out). Food was hit or miss: Pavlova was out if this world but lemon meringue tart was mid. I would recommend overall.

Mobbed
The place was absolutely mobbed when we came in right around the time of the Farmer's Market going on, but we wanted to try out the Ocean Roll, and it was quite good. Their banana bread was also excellent, as well as the Almond Croissant. Coffee was great. Just be prepared to wait in line unless you come real early.

Perfect vibe for a cool morning coffee break!
Everything about this little bakery-cafe is top notch. Located in a super cute trendy neighborhood, the "internet cafe" style menu is a feast for the eyes when out for a nice quick breakfast plate or sandwich. The food was fresh and great quality. I was only in Bend for 4 days and I made a point of coming here twice. I loved my breakfast sandwich, but that snickerdoodle cookie was to die for!!! Several other pastries were tried with 2 thumbs up -- such as the ocean roll and ocean bread pudding!!
