This has got to be one of the most romantic all-around getaway locations in Oregon. This is a place where fiction meets surreal, where magical fantasy meets reality, cinematic rom-com meets real life rom-com, with illuminating dawns to magnificent dusks and sunsets, to majestic views of the ocean, colossal natural terrain and wide forever beaches day or night, to the incredible relaxing comforts in one’s room, to the stylish and magnificent farm to table and delectable dining offered, one cannot overspeak of the Stephanie Inn. Our room was cozy and comfy, inspired with classic yet modern taste, amenities and finesse with every convenience one needs and seeks, along with its wonderful, real and romantic fireplace, spa-like bath, and not to mention the balcony overlooking just feet away from the majestic Pacific Ocean. The amenities throughout are immense… from beaching, balconing, fire pitting – you name it, you got it. This is the quietest hotels we’ve ever experienced with the exception of its rolling waves or rain – making the ambience even the more fascinating. My wife and I have had many opportunities to visit many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country (whether Hotels, Inns, Guest Houses, Spas, Bed and Breakfasts or Cabins), and not a professional hotel reviewer by any means, and not a regular business traveler - but as a primarily pleasure and needs wanderer, I have developed as what I believe is my concise method for scoring the earnestness of each accommodation frequented. My measures are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 5 ]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 5 ]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 5 ]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 5 ]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 5 ]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 5 ]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 5.0. Most positive point(s) at this hotel is/are: almost everything – but location, location, location may take the cake. Most negative points found here are: I was never ever able to find one! Whether you go for relaxing, touring or romancing – Stephanie’s for you. My price to value to overall assessment: you more than get what you pay for and you’ll not leave wanting. This is the best score we’ve ever reviewed of any hotel/inn we’ve ever visited, bar none. We cannot wait to go back… again, and again, and again.
My husband and I were seated promptly for the early seating (5:30-7) and enjoyed a 4-course prix fixe meal but chose not to do the wine pairings with each course because we weren't staying in Cannon Beach and had a long drive home. You are able to order wine by the glass from the menu, however, and we ordered the selections suggested on the menu for our entrees. At the beginning of the meal, it was explained that we would be served by a team of 4 servers, who were all very professional and attentive. Each course was delicious and presented beautifully. The dining room itself is small and very simply furnished but comfortable and quiet. The only drawback, as other reviewers have stated, is the view of the parking lot, which is very unattractive. I think most diners might expect an ocean view given the inn's location. In order to witness the beautiful sunsets here, you would have to have cocktails or wine at the bar downstairs but then you would miss the meal based on the timing of the two seatings. The meal was pricey but we both felt it was worth the extra $$$$.
I don't really like to provide "Poor" reviews, but I use reviews others provide to help me decide where to go and not to go, so I owe it to those who take the time to write reviews I read. My wife and I experienced the tasting event at The Stephanie Inn Restaurant. It was average at best, but I have to give it a "Poor" rating based on its inability to live up to its price and the hype it gets. Service was good, but not great. The servers were spread too thin to really provide any one-on-one service. The setting is comfortable, but it's not what you think it's going to be sitting on the coast (your view is to the parking lot and the hills beyond, not the ocean). But the key reason for the Poor rating is the food - it just wasn't good. It was bland. Definitely not anything to write home about. There are many other options in Cannon Beach with far better food at far less than half the price. The Stephanie Inn may be a great place to stay (I don't really know), but it's not where I would recommend you have dinner.
The food was delicate and clearly made with high-quality, well-sourced ingredients. Each dish offered a unique combination of flavors that transported me back to my home region of Brittany, France. I truly appreciated the culinary craftsmanship. However, the overall dining experience was diminished by the lack of ambiance. Most disappointing was the chef’s table visit—he made rounds to speak with couples about their meals but skipped my table entirely. As the only solo diner, being overlooked felt disheartening and left a negative impression.
This was a terrific dining experience. All of the courses were carefully crafted and came expertly prepared with supporting sauces. The cellar selections wine pairing matched up well. Service was terrific and the chef does a nice job of covering the food for the evening. I would highly recommend this premier dining experience to anyone in cannon beach
