Historic Hotel in Gorgeous Setting
The grounds are simply beautiful and the rooms are nice, although small. I like it when I can unpack some things especially in the bathroom. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anywhere to store things like make-up or skin care items that I always travel with. No place to unpack clothing except for one small closet, no drawers except in the bedside table. We enjoyed the restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Lovely seating outdoors with gorgeous views of the Columbia River. A lovely waterfall.

Ok but not great
Showed up to check in at 3:30 and assured room would be ready at 4. Did not get into room until almost 5 after checking w/desk agent every 15 min. Not offered a drink in bar or anything. Free coffee in lobby in morning. Gorgeous grounds.

Beautiful with a slight issue
Hotel was a little on the expensive side but the view was beautiful and it was right there for the venue wedding we attended. We did have an issue on the 2nd morning with black sludge/mud coming up through the bathtub which was a little unsettling to say the least. I'm happy we took our showers rhe day before because we would have been standing in sludge and standing water to shower. Overall it was very nice and we had a wonderful time.

Would not stay here again.
Our stay started with an unfriendly welcome listing rules and regulations. Then notified that because the lift was from the 1920's we had to be escorted to the room. My wife was in the room alone while I was at the car when another couple entered the room using their key card. Unacceptable and dangerous. Apparently we had been allocated the wrong room. Later that evening it was our key cards that had been disabled requiring us to get new ones. Still not sure if our room is safe. They offered us a comp breakfast by way of apology. The room ( a river view) offers us a partial view of the Columbia river. The curtains don't block out the daylight, the TV and mirror are lopsided. The aircon is noisy and mediocre. We tried calling the hotel multiple times before our arrival with a query but no one answered the phone. The one saving grace was the guy, John, who worked in the Valentino bar - top man.

Lovely ambiance at the Columbia Gorge Hotel
We had a wonderful time at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. We love the charm and character of the entire place. Our room was comfortable, and had everything we needed, including an excellent view. The hotel and grounds have been well maintained over the years. We like to stroll through the gardens.
