Overpriced and mediocre
Went here for special Mother’s Day dinner, and they had a set-rate dinner offering that included an appetizer buffet, and played dinner with about 5 choices, and a dessert buffet. The price was $80/person. -not even close to worth that! App buffet was just a small salad bar and cold mussels, while dessert bar was padded with seemingly store-bought items. Served dinners were fine, but nothing more. I won’t even describe the terrible cocktail, but they took it back, so that was not a big deal. Yes, the view there is lovely, and perhaps you can charge a premium for that. But for $80, I expect to be delighted, and I was not.

Not As Captivating As I Had Hoped
The service was slow and appeared to be understaffed; however the view was nice. I had avocado toast, which was good but not quite what I anticipated; my hubby had oatmeal, which he enjoyed. I wanted to see the dining room and the view which is nice.

Lunch at the hotel!
Had a nice lunch this afternoon!! First time in many years since we attended a wedding.. Very nice restaurant and lovely views of the Columbia River!! Food was so so…my salad was wonderful with lots of fruits and Hazelnuts! Wish I could have had a roll with my salad but was told none available… My husbands. fish and chips were just okay!! The French fries tasted like day old fires and cold…the onion rings just plain terrible..we ordered dessert and was happy to see a beautiful dessert on a lovely plate!! We’d loved to come back but perhaps for dinner.

History Out of Reach
This hotel/restaurant could be so much more. The storied history seems to be an afterthought with the focus being on an eclectic amalgamation of 80’s dining room furniture and plain aesthetics. While there are some quasi historical pictures and true period movie posters this could be the foundation of a full historical vibe. Picture the Ahwanee Lodge (now Yosemite Lodge) or even the Overlook Hotel from The Shining. The decor carries over to the dining room where the specialty cocktails do carry the Pacific NW theme but what about hitting the drinks from the 1920’s and 30’s? Bees Knees, Sidecars, Old Fashioneds, or Gin Rickey’s would start the throwback. The menu seems to be a muddle of dishes in search of an identity and could easily reprinted to look historical. Local fare like Salmon is great but pork chops or deviled eggs would tie back to the 20's. Soften the lighting and put on some Duke Ellington or Cole Porter to set the mood. The grounds already set the mood of stepping back in time and the interior could whisk someone back to a special era.

Beautiful setting!
What a beautiful setting, it felt like we were thrown back to another time. The velvet covered chairs and elegant decor made it feel special. The branzino special was excellent!
