Overall good, room for improvement.
I have always wanted to stay at this hotel ever since I heard about it from a friend. Overall, the hotel was nice and the service was good and personable. Rooms were well-appointed and comfortable with epic views of Haystack Rock and Cape Kiwanda. There were some issues with this trip (mainly breakfast), on Saturday I went down for breakfast and was greeted kindly, and seated right away (I think a lot of people take advantage of breakfast in the room). I received my drink and starter quickly, however; after 35 minutes of waiting and I still had not seen my main. When the waitress came back she said they only had one chef, and that my breakfast hadn't been started. While I can sympathize with short staffing, having one chef on a Saturday seems like a clear miss service wise. I cancelled my main, and went about my day. I did not partake Sunday because it looked like they were light staffed again. Prices are very high for the restaurant, but it seems like that is about average for the area as other restaurants were quite high in price as well. Small things in the room could be improved (my room was very warm, and I could not get it to cool down other than leaving the door open), and they need amenities like slippers given that they focus on relaxation there. I know I can be picky at times with my reviews, but I had just come from the Ritz Carlton in Portland, and they were 200 dollars cheaper a night so I feel like these small details matter. Overall, I might stay again (when the hot tub is working, it was closed for maintenance, if you know this hotel the hot tub is a big draw). The views alone were breathtaking and I spent hours on my balcony reading because we luckily had good weather all weekend.

Calm and comfort at the ocean.
Everything was exactly what we were hoping for. Exceptional views form our room, warm and friendly staff, great food, and an atmosphere of calm and comfort. Our room was very large, plenty of space to relax. The balcony was perfect. A nice warm blanket was provided so we could just sit and stare at the sea. Service from the staff was amazing. We felt very appreciated as guests.

King Tide adventure
If you’re looking for a beach location, any closer and you’d be in the surf. The room was nice appointed with a fireplace. Sitting area and balcony overlooking the ocean. The overall inn is beautiful. You walk into a huge open area with fireplace and Adventure concierge on the right, check in on the left and a restaurant with ocean views just beyond. Clearly a place worth coming back.
