Spray

Small in size but big on scenery, Spray is smack in the middle of John Day Fossil Beds country.

The postage stamp-size burg was named for the first postmaster, John Fremont Spray. Drive along the Journey Through Time Scenic Byway, or take a two-wheeled tour on the Painted Hills Scenic Bikeway. Outdoor enthusiasts love the tranquility of the John Day River for rafting, hiking and fishing, while others giddyup at the annual rodeo.
