Dufur

Two farmer brothers named their new home on the arid plains of Central Oregon after themselves and Dufur was born.

Today, the Historic Balch Hotel keeps agricultural traditions alive with the annual Vintage Dufur Days harvest festival. While tractors plow the local fields, these quiet back roads lure road bikers, too. Visit the Dufur Historical Society Museum to learn about the town’s first residents, and grab a beer at the Pastime Saloon and Restaurant to meet some current ones.
