Located on the shores of the Columbia River and near the Deschutes River, The Dalles is the eastern gateway to the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area and near the Mt. Hood National Forest, where you can hike, kayak, fly fish and ski to your heart’s content. Explore the town’s rich history at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Wasco County Historical Museum and the Fort Dalles Museum. And if you’re lucky enough to find yourself here in April, you’ll be treated to all things cherry at the Northwest Cherry Festival.

The Dalles is located in Mt. Hood / The Gorge, home to the towering cliffs and waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge and the snowy peak of Mt. Hood.

This area includes the nearby subregion: The Columbia River Gorge.

Nearby cities are: Mosier, Hood River, Odell, and Maupin.
