Newport

This community on the central Oregon coast caught global attention when its Oregon Coast Aquarium became the home of Keiko, the movie star Orca. Newport is also home to two of Oregon’s nine historic lighthouses: Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, built in 1871, and Yaquina Head Lighthouse, built in 1873. Newport has one of the coast’s largest commercial fishing fleets, as well as a bevy of recreational fishing boats and guide services for visitors.
