A great stop outside Eugene!
What a gem! Stopped in for 2 hours on a misty Sunday morning with my college-aged biology-major son. They have really informative signs up about each Raptor on display - explaining how they came to be there and what their day to day life is like, what kind of enrichment they engage in, etc. We peered through the window of the on-site medical center, and spent a few dollars in the well-appointed gift shop. We learned a lot, enjoyed seeing the different species there (Bald eagle, owls, hawks, falcons, kestrels and more), and were grateful to the folks that work and volunteer there. We didn't see any of the presentations and education they do where you might get to see one of the raptors up close - that would be great to check out too, especially for younger visitors I would imagine.

Great way to spend an hour in Eugene
Wonderful facility just past the edge of town that features rescued ‘ambassadors’ of many variety. The range of birds, from small kestrels to large eagles, is really sensational. If you are lucky enough to catch the staff at ‘demonstration’, then you get insight into the training process and how intelligent these birds can be. Great spot!

Eagles, owls, and hawks, oh my!
Seeing so many fascinating birds up close is amazing. There are eagles, owls, hawks, falcons and turkey vultures. The self-guided walk around the grounds is easy and immersive. Every hour or so, a docent takes some of the birds out into the open for demonstrations.

It's a bird sanctuary. A good one.
An awesome raptor ambassador program with a cool show and detailed introductions to the birds on display and their species. Staff were friendly and willing to answer questions. This isn't open to this public, but they talked about their rehabilitation center and hospital as well, and the scale of the operation is pretty staggering. With how many of the descriptions talked about birds being moved because their former centers and zoos downsized or closed down, I was happy to support this one.
