Natural beauty is a big part of what makes Central Oregon a year-round getaway — and the regions wonders are on full display for vacation home rental guests at Caldera Springs, a luxe community at Sunriver Resort.

Caldera Springs is a resort-within-a-resort. Here, you can sip coffee on your back patio while enjoying sweeping views of Mt. Bachelor. Then watch deer feeding in nearby meadows and stretch your legs on 9 miles of trails that crisscross the pine forests at your doorstep. In addition to that close connection with the natural world, Caldera Springs has recently unveiled a variety of new offerings — including the family-friendly Forest House community hub and the locally inspired Lake House Restaurant. See what’s new and get excited for your next getaway to the region.

Sleep Well With a Luxurious Overnight Stay

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a family reunion, you’ll find the right size vacation rental — from cozy studios to seven-bedroom homes for groups of all sizes. Whatever you choose, your amenity-rich Caldera Springs rental will sit alongside a tranquil lake, stream or pond.

The resort’s Caldera Cabins reside in the heart of the community and offer up to four bedrooms — complete with a full kitchen and outdoor hot tub. Custom vacation homes offer three to five bedrooms — each with unique design features and amenities that might include spacious patios adorned with hot tubs and other perks, multiple seating areas, and high-end furnishings. The resort’s newest rentals can be found within its Forestbrook community. The cozy king studios come with decorative touches inspired by the Pacific Northwest and offer views of the on-site wildlife preserve.

Kick Back Around the Pool — or Get Active at Forest House

No trip to Central Oregon is complete without getting at least a little active. And however you define “active,” you’ll find much to love about the plentiful perks at Caldera Springs. Start with the chic Forest House, the resort’s all-new community hub that hosts a state-of-the-art fitness center, duckpin bowling lanes and a well-appointed family room stocked with board games for playing around a fireplace. If you’d rather take it easy, make time to unwind around the Forest House’s outdoor pool area, which includes reservable cabanas and daybeds, a dual-racer water slide, a hot tub and a lazy river. When you get hungry, the on-site Piney’s bar and cafe serves light bites, sandwiches, ice cream and creative cocktails — with poolside dining available.

Elsewhere around the resort, the fun includes four award-winning golf courses, including the nine-hole Caldera Links Golf Course, Meadows, Woodlands, and Crosswater, which was honored by Golf Digest as one of “America’s Greatest Courses.” There are also 40+ miles of running, walking and cycling trails (some paved, some soft), a 220-acre wildlife preserve that’s occasionally home to a migrating herd of elk, an off-leash dog area, paddle-craft rentals, and brand-new pickleball courts. In winter, a sledding hill offers plenty of snowy fun for kids of all ages.

When you stay at a Caldera Springs home or cabin that’s managed by Sunriver Resort Vacation Properties, you’ll enjoy all the amenities of a Sunriver Resort guest — as well as additional perks exclusive to Caldera Springs guests, giving you the best of both worlds. The many perks include complimentary  loaner cruiser bikes, watercraft rentals and complimentary access to The Spa at Sunriver Resort and its fitness center.

Savor Local Flavors at the All-New Lake House

If you’re grabbing dinner with the family after a busy day outdoors, treat yourself to a meal at the freshly remodeled Lake House Restaurant amidst views of Obsidian Lake and Mt. Bachelor. The menu includes Pacific Northwest-inspired dishes that use fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, all served in an airy space with a high, arched ceiling and massive windows or on the lakeside patio. If you spent all day shredding the slopes at nearby Mt. Bachelor — less than 30 minutes from Caldera Springs — or driving the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, warm up next to the ornate fireplace in the Lake House’s bar. For a relaxing way to end any day, roast a few s’mores around the fire pit on the restaurant’s lakeside patio.
