Whether you’re in the mood for an active adventure, a food-filled vacation or a peaceful retreat, Soul Community Planet (SCP) Hotels have you covered. Holistic wellness and environmental consciousness take center stage at all three of SCP’s Oregon properties, but each has its own special perks. Here’s how to pick the perfect spot for your next getaway.

Aerial Park at Salishan

Embrace Adventure in Gleneden Beach

Just south of Lincoln City on Oregon’s Central Coast, Salishan Coastal Lodge by SCP Hotels offers plenty to entice thrill-seeking travelers. The 200-acre resort is full of opportunities to get active, including an 18-hole golf course and an Indoor Tennis Center. Hikers take note: Four nature trails weave throughout the property, so you can easily go on a hike without having to drive anywhere. As you walk, keep an eye out for colorful glass floats that the staff hide around Salishan’s expansive grounds. If you find one, you’ll get to take it home.

Start the day with a free daily yoga class to wake up your muscles for the day ahead. Then borrow a cruiser bike and head down to the shore for a pedal along the Pacific. Prefer mountain biking? Bring your own bike (or rent one from the front desk) and head over to the Bike Skills Course for an exhilarating challenge.

For a particularly thrilling experience, reserve your spot on a treetop adventure at the Aerial Park at Salishan. All bookings include the chance to journey through an extensive aerial course, complete with bridge obstacles, ladders and ropes. If you’re feeling extra daring, make sure to soar through the trees on the park’s two all-new 400-foot zip lines.

After your adventure, refuel with a satisfying meal at one of Salishan’s three on-site dining options, or unwind with a treatment at the lodge’s magnificent spa. Then settle into one of the spacious but cozy guest rooms, which feature fireplaces and woodsy decor.

Relax With a Coastal Retreat in Depoe Bay

The Oregon Coast is a great place for a rejuvenating retreat in any season, and the SCP Depoe Bay is a particularly fantastic place to get away from it all. This compact eco-lodge sits right on the harbor, offering soothing water views from its 13 rooms. It’s an ideal spot for a self-guided solo retreat, though you can also rent out the entire property — including its kitchen and spacious common area — if you want to lead a group retreat of your own.

The rooms’ bright interiors and gorgeous views make it tempting to stay curled up in bed, but there’s plenty to entice you out of your haven. The hotel offers a fitness studio equipped with a Peloton bike and plenty of yoga mats, and the shops and restaurants in Depoe Bay are steps away. If you want to feel closer to nature, head to the Oregon State Parks-run Whale Watching Center, or treat yourself to a whale-watching boat tour led by seasoned marine biologist Carrie Newell of Whale Research EcoExcursions.

Terra Kitchen

Treat Your Taste Buds in Redmond

Central Oregon has long been celebrated as a playground for lovers of the great outdoors. It’s also a fabulous food destination, which you’ll quickly find out with a stay at SCP Redmond Hotel. Occupying a historic building in the heart of downtown Redmond, this boutique property features bright, spacious rooms decked out in natural and upcycled materials. In the true SCP spirit, there’s also a meditation room and a fitness center.

Perhaps the biggest draw — for locals and visitors alike — is the hotel’s four dining options, all of which offer plant-forward menus showcasing the flavors of Oregon through seasonal produce, locally-sourced proteins and herbs grown right on property at the hotel’s rooftop garden. Provisions Market serves up healthy and hearty meals and smoothies from early morning until mid-afternoon. Even if you aren’t feeling hungry, it’s worth dropping by to check out the curated selection of gifts and goodies, like superfood powders and elixirs by Anima Mundi Herbals and a large selection of art and souvenirs crafted by Oregonian makers.

Just off the lobby, Wayfarer Club pairs an extensive beverage selection with a menu of tacos, tapas, salads and flatbreads. In the spring and summer, you’ll find many of the same offerings — and the best views in town — at The Rooftop, the only rooftop bar in Redmond. Whatever you do, don’t check out before dining at Terra Kitchen, which serves globally inspired fare with a focus on seasonal and sustainable ingredients.

While you’re in town, give yourself plenty of time to taste your way through the High Desert Food Trail, a self-guided circuit that highlights the best of Central Oregon’s culinary bounty. Trail outposts range from farms and ranches to breweries and restaurants (including Terra Kitchen), and many of the ingredients served at the hotel’s dining outlets are sourced directly from food-trail partners. You’re sure to discover a new favorite flavor — and maybe even stock up on some goodies to enjoy in your peaceful guest room at SCP Redmond Hotel.
