Oregon City's Whiskey Gem
š @thehardwarestoreoc š602 7th Street, OC, OR 97045 š½ļøSalmon & Focaccia š„500 Days of Summer & Mad Hatter Find your way down the stairs then make a call. I knew I was heading into a night of whiskey with the smoked scent that you get the minute you walk in. Our experience started with a bit of a flat noteāthe person who seated us felt more like a gatekeeper than a greeter, lacking warmth or welcome. Fortunately, our server quickly shifted the tone. With a soft voice, a bright smile, and deep knowledge. From the Libations menu: ⢠500 Days of Summer ā Banana whiskey? It sounds risky, but it was a tropical daydream in a glass. Unexpected, smooth, and perfectly balanced. ⢠The Mad Hatter ā This one came with attitude. The sting of absinthe lingered just long enough to keep you guessing. Itās not for the faint of heart, but definitely for the adventurous. Now to the Provisions. The salmon was, without exaggeration, one of the best plates Iāve had in recent memory. Perfectly cooked, artfully presented, and rich with flavor, it was the kind of dish that makes you stop talking mid-sentence. I didnāt want to share, but I did... eventually. It alone is worth a repeat visit. The vibe was casual but elevated. It was a mix of people gathering after work, friends meeting for an early dinner and couples just out spending quality time together. There are a number of seating options which make is a great place for any gathering. The menu changes often, so don't treat this like a one and done.
