About The Paddle Shack Scappoose Bay

For generations, Scappoose Bay has been known as a cherished and vital destination for paddle sports in the Pacific Northwest. The Bay offers unique conditions—calm, protective waters, rich wildlife, and natural tranquility—perfect for kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) and fishing.

At The Paddle Shack, they are dedicated to carrying that legacy forward, ensuring Scappoose Bay remains the region's top hub for all things paddle and fishing.

Owners Cody James and Bri fell in love with the Bay years ago, finding sanctuary, paddling in its peace and natural beauty. When they heard Next Adventure Scappoose Bay was slated to close its doors, they couldn't let it happen. Along with the local community, Cody James and Bri knew this regional treasure had to be saved.

Thanks to a true community effort, they proudly took the paddles on October 1st, 2024. Their mission is to share the healing power of nature, be true stewards of the Bay, and make The Paddle Shack a genuine community gathering place.
