What a beautiful drive up to Rowena Crest. The winding roads, with trees on both sides, was enchanting. When you get to the top, you're rewarded with the most beautiful panoramic views of the Gorge, river bends and dramatic scenery. I don't know if it's always so windy up there, but if it is, leave your hat in your car or hold it down. It definitely added to the experience for us. Highly recommend the stop.

Beautiful views
Nice quick but worth while stop for a great view of the river. We had fun watching the para-sailing on the river. Great road up to the top. Very accessible for anyone!

Go at Sunrise
We went at sunrise and the views were stunning. Plus there were only a few other people there at that time. One of the top highlights IMO, on the historic highway.

Don’t Miss This View
Don’t Miss This Overlook! It is an absolutely stunning view of the Columbia River Gorge. My husband and I could’ve spent more time here just taking in the view. Highly recommend this lovely drive to the top.

Great views for little efford
For a small effort in driving up the old road the views are spectacular. You can also go for a walk on a shortish trail, about 2 miles round trip. It was much better than we expected from what we had been able to research online
