Difficult Golf Course
If you have a high handicap you may want to avoid this course. Slope rating for men 130 and up. Most fairways are up hill and I mean up hill. Trees, deep bunkers, sloped greens, and thick rough add to the challenge. Many of the fairways had bare spots and the round took 5 hours.

GOLFER BEWARE
Buyer beware! Shady practices all around. Made an online reservation through Chronogolf and was told we could reschedule. When I attempted to do so I was forced to call the clubhouse. Then I got the runaround and only Pat, the clubhouse manager, could reschedule. After calling multiple times, finally got ahold of Pat, who could not accommodate our schedule and offered to cancel the tee time and refund our money. He repeatedly reassured me that he would personally make sure that Chronogolf refunded our money. I was not refunded a few days after the tee time was originally scheduled and called Pat again. He again said he would "fix things" and call or email me back by the end of the day. A week went by and he did not call, email, or have our money refunded. I called the clubhouse and left 4 messages over the past week. Guess who still hasn't returned any messages? Avoid the hassle and golf at a different course in the Bend area.

Deferred maintenance eventually hurts.
A nice locale is spoiled by neglect. The fairways have innumerable broken irrigation lines and are overgrown with trees that interfere with many routine shots. The greens are in poor condition and many bunkers are overgrown with weeds and grass. Bend has many other golf courses that are maintained and playable. Sadly this isn't one.

Course is in rough condition. Much new home construction around course.
Many many cookie cutter homes now crowd this course. Fairways, tee boxes, approach areas are in rough condition. Many un-filled divots. Lots of sod recently repaired due to all the new course side homes. This is no-way a Golf Digest recommended course (or at least not anymore!). Widgi Creek is in beautiful, very well maintained condition for same price. Hundreds & hundreds of gophers and rock-chucks + their burrows. Hundreds. Nice staff. Tough walk. Course was dead quiet on a Saturday afternoon.
