Alberta Abbey

Located in the heart of Northeast Portland, the Alberta Abbey is a neighborhood-based performance venue that aims to nurture the creative, visual and performing arts in Portland by amplifying opportunities for Black and underrepresented communities.

The building was converted to an arts hub from the former Mallory Avenue Christian Church which was founded in 1922 with the purpose “to serve its community without distinction of person or race.”

The facility consists of a large 400 seat auditorium, 300 person ballroom and piano lounge and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
