Good Overview of the Area
Informative, lots of picnic tables, cute ground squirrels, many helpful rangers to answer questions. Free maps. Good view of the lava flow if you aren't going anywhere else.

This was a very interesting place to visit! They had a good video, great interpretive maps, lots of books about the area, and other items to see. It helped us to understand better where and why the lava was so prevalent there. Good visit!

Peaceful and Beautiful!
What a cool experience! Even though the visitors center is closed until May, we were still able to explore this amazing place. Incredible views, fresh air, and unique landscape.. what more could you ask for?

Worth the stop
Very cool place to spend a few hours. Nice visitor center with a great paved trail through the lava fields. There is some incline but nothing hard. Then $3 to take the bus up to the top for some amazing views

Good Visitor Center with a Nice Staff.
We arrived pretty late in the day, so we didn't have a huge amount of time at the Visitor Center. The nice lady behind the counter gave us a quick rundown of what we should see if we had the time. She was happy that we already had been to the Big Obsidian Flow Trail and told us we had to go around back and check out the Trail of Molten Land out back (which is amazing too!). We picked up a few odds and ends, a few snacks, and water and checked out the trail. It was stunning. I did not expect it to be as beautiful as it was.
