Willamette Valley Vineyards was established in 1983 by Oregon native Jim Bernau with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir. Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the regions leading wineries, listed as one of the top 100 Wines in the World by Wine Spectator Magazine, named “One of Americas Great Pinot Noir Producers” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and dubbed “Winery of the Year” by Wine and Spirits Magazine. Jim believes that Pinot Noir made with consideration for the environment, employees and community simply tastes better. All of the vineyards have been certified sustainable through LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon-Safe programs. We invite you to learn about the unique story of our winery as you take in sweeping views of the vineyard and valley at our Estate Tasting Room. Enjoy food and wine pairings in a relaxed setting with cozy fireplaces, an expansive patio, spacious courtyard and a 65-foot lookout tower. Restaurant - Don't go if you have any food allergies!!!
I get better food prep at diners, cafes, and coffee shops. I have food allergies. I tell the server up front what they are and ask if the kitchen can prepare a meal for me. The server answered yes, then went to the kitchen to see if they could prepare my request. The poor server came back saying they couldn't accommodate the salad, but they could accommodate a burger. I told them I don't eat beef. The server went back to the kitchen and came back with "they could prepare shrimp." I had asked for a plain lettuce salad with PLAIN chicken on it. I carry my own dressing. The lettuce came out with a dressing on it and the chicken with a sauce. I sent it back. The next time the lettuce came with lemon juice on it and the chicken with a different sauce. Again, I sent it back. What don't they understand about "NO SAUCE?!" I again sent it back and ate a protein bar while the other guest had an interesting, yet over priced meal!!! The wines are overpriced for the quality as well.
Fabulous wines at Willamette winery
We just spent a few days in Oregon and had the best wines and experiences at Willamette winery! Beautiful facilities with fabulous views and the staff was so welcoming and great! Can’t wait to return
Not impressive for a winery with such a reputation
I brought my family who were visiting from out of state, and I was embarrassed to have put them in a situation to spend these prices for such horrendous and rude service. They told us to seat ourselves, and it was difficult to find a clean table, so we had to go back inside to ask someone to clear a place for us. Then we had to go back inside again to track someone down so we could order appetizers. We all ordered a tasting flight at $20 per person (6 people), had to go inside to get each individual tasting for which the servers at the bar acted like they were annoyed to serve anyone. They did not rinse our glasses or give new glasses for each tasting -- that should be standard 101 for a winery, especially for a winery with this reputation for being above par. Nothing about my experience made me want to join a membership, return again, or recommend to a friend. So sad, because I remember when they used to be a nice place to go.
Beautiful Vineyard Great Wine
The campus of Willamette Valley is stunning. Take the time to book a table and learn about the wines and enjoy the food. Then walk around and see the stunning views! Wine was excellent - and we were able to try many varieties for a reasonable price.
Lovely time with a gorgeous sunset to boot!
My husband, my recently widowed sister and I visited the winery for a late afternoon tasting and dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by the most knowledgeable guide, Ginny, who attended to us at just the right amount of time with each of the 5 tastings. She has been around there since the beginning, so the history of the wines as well as the pairings were excellent. In addition, I, a recipe tester for America's Test Kitchen, and an amateur chef, was impressed with each of the dishes we shared. They all were artfully presented and provocatively tasty. Thanks to the chef and to Ginny on August 5.
