We were directed here from the Coelho tasting room. We were greeted by an exceptionally nice and friendly lady that poured for us. The wine is well priced and we especially liked the Samuel Robert Pinot noir.

After visiting Coelho Winery, we were directed to Samuel Robert Winery. Sam is the son of the Coelho owner. Sam makes some excellent Pinot Noirs, but I was enchanted by the two Rieslings he had to offer. One was bone dry, the other "off dry," meaning it had a hint of sweetness like many Rieslings that Americans consider traditional. What I walked out with was a bottle of the drier of the two which, coincidentally is the wine made that beat his father's wine for a gold medal at a Portland event. Melissa, our tasting room host, was personable and friendly, making this an even more inviting experience. Even though the Pinot Noirs are excellent, it is the Riesling which sets Samuel Robert apart from other wineries in the area.

Sister Tasting Room of Coehlo around the corner
Nice quiet tasting room staffed by a cheerful and spry older women with lots of energy. They offer two good Rieslings, two pinots, made in the french style and a syrah sources from southern Oregon. All together a pleasant experience. entry level pinot at $25 is not bad...
