Not much of a wine person but DANG!! I LOVED their wine!!
Daughter set us up with a wine tasting trip while we were visiting. Ho Hum said me. About an hour drive from Portland. Met with Crystal K (co-owner? and winemaker). Very kind and very knowledgable lady. I don't remember how many different wines she poured for us but I do remember my favorites! Old Vine Reserve Dijon 777 and Pommard. We enjoyed going in to the cellar with her and sampling directly from the barrels then going back up for more samples with grapes and cheese. What a delightful experience, I'd enjoy going back!

Sign says Open for Wine Tasting
Kason was our first winery stop on this wine vacation. We were heading down Hwy 47 towards our B&B in Carlton and made a random decision to stop here as we knew nothing about the winery or their wines. A sign saying open for wine tasting was enough. Turned out to be a great decision. We entered the tasting room and were greeted by Crystal. A very enjoyable wine tasting started. Crystal knew quite a bit about the wines she was pouring us as she is also the winemaker for the winery. So started our in depth introduction to her Oregon pinot noirs. We were able to do side by side tasting of the Dijon 777 Clone vs Dijon 115 clone. They were both good, but I liked the smooth silky feel of the 777 clone better. Then Crystal offered us a taste of an "old vine reserve" pinot noir (vines are only in the 30+ year range, but is old for Oregon). I liked that wine too. A different taste from the younger vines. And during all of this, a little chocolate to go with the wines never hurt the tastings. Before I knew it, I had bought a bottle of the 2015 Dijon 777 clone pinot noir as well as a bottle of the 2015 old vine reserve pinot noir. A great start to the vacation with a good foundation about Oregon pinot noirs.

Roadside Attraction
Just a quick stop for wine tasting became a fantastic experience. Out host, Steve was so outgoing and so sharing. We tried his two whites and then the Pino Noirs, 4 of them. We got the history of each wine and the winery. He let us try wines still in the kegs. Our stop ended up being two hours and a membership to the wine club. It is a small winery, but it will grow. Oh, yes, he is open on Mondays, which many are not.
