Alexeli (pronounced “alex el-ee”) is nestled along the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, in Oregon’s beautiful East Willamette Valley.
Alexeli Vineyard is home to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Muller-Thurgau European grape varietals, planted in 1980 and 1981. A small plot of Syrah was also planted in 2012.
The winery practices sustainable farming and has achieved LIVE certification.

The wine is fantastic. We have been there two different times. The first time was 5+ stars. We sat outside and had great service. The second time was inside and not as fun.
My daughter and her husband discovered this winery while driving through the area and were able to convince the owners to allow them to host their wedding. Their wines included both excellent whites and reds at reasonable prices. The grounds were ideal for events and they have wine tastings and food tastings. The wedding was quite special and ideal for approximately 80 guests. The ceremony was held down by the river with the backdrop from a quaint gazebo framed by wine barrels. It was canopied by trees and had a natural slope that afforded a great view of the ceremony. There was plenty of parking space along the road and the inside tasting area provided the place for wine, beer, appetizers and dessert. The owners were wonderful and made the wedding a memorable experience.
I have just been discovering wines, even though I have been drinking wine for ages. I recently have been trying to keep track of what I like, which wines I like, which wine makers that I can count on and so forth. I don't spend a lot of money on wine, so I have to be specific and carefully pay attention. Today we met a young winemaker who obviously loves what he does. He shared with us the short history of his winery, how he makes his wine, some of what he has learned in the process. We tasted a few of his favorites and bought a chardonnay and a rose. The wine was excellent...dry, light, and wonderfully refreshing. The company and information added to our delight. Please stop by there. It is worth it. Take the scenic drive from Portland south on Hwy 213. Check out the llamas next door.
We stopped here to taste some wine as we were traveling through the valley. The setting is beautiful, the owner was very kind and the wine was priced affordably. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to going back. I recommend the Pinot Noir.
