The market’s genuine oregon wild chinook salmon is caught by their semi-wild friends, in the ocean across the road, then honest-and-truly smoked for at least a day with alder cut from nearby woods. Each satisfying piece is filleted by hand and monitored to smoky perfection in all kinds of wind and weather by Ron, Sean, and the trusty keepers of the flame — making it the most famous smoked salmon on the Northwest coast.

Delicious Salmon Jerky
We stayed in Lincoln City for a couple days and each time we passed by this place we were intrigued. It's located on busy Highway 101 so you can't miss it. On the last day we were there, we made a point to stop by. This place is old school and I like that about it. Their website says "Unchanged Since 1949" and it is the real deal - a no-nonsense fish market. If I was a local, I would come here all the time. But since we were only passing through, I couldn't buy much. I only ended up getting several pieces of their Salmon Jerky because it could last longer in our cooler. Wow, it was really good! It tasted like an extreme version of smoked salmon - very flavorful and meaty. And it really came in handy as snacks on our road trip.

A must stop, every trip
We stop at Barnacle Bill's on our way out of Lincoln City every single trip! The smoked fish is always great, and they pack it in ice for your travels. The employees are always kind and well versed in the products. If they have the smoked salmon cream cheese when you are there, pick it up, it's heavenly!

I Live in Maryland, and order their crabs for my dad for Father's Day...he LOVES them! :-)
My dad used to tell me stories of visiting the Pacific Coast Beaches by Lincoln City when he was a teenager living in Portland, OR (his Grandmother owned a cabin). Once he joined the Navy, he rarely had any opportunity to return. Several Springs ago, he returned (now in his 80's) to visit his brothers -- and they relived the ABSOLUTE TREAT of eating Dungenous Crabs. So starting last Father's Day, and now for this one, I've ordered whole crabs to be sent overnight express to him in honor of such tremendous childhood memories. The crabs (generally over 1#) can be shipped overnight express -- which can be a steep price, but the special memories are worth it. The crabs themselves are a fair price (compared to a smaller MD Blue Crab). If you want them whole, you need to ask for them that way. If you go to their seafood market, I think they only accept cash -- but they do accept credit cards for mailed online orders. Call to make sure they are open and to see what is seasonally available. Check out their website for more info, availability & pricing. Please tip the staff well -- they provide a wonderful service...heck, I live on the 'Left Coast' and know they are famous fore their crabs. (If you don't have gout, or are allergic to shellfish...give Barnacle Bill's crabs a try -- and if you really love them, share the wonderfully tasty experience with family or friends -- cater your next big event enjoying their selection of fresh West Coast seafood). Enjoy! :-)

Great seafood for cash only
The seafood selection is great. And the person who helped us was very helpful and friendly. One thing to know is they ONLY accept cash payment. (An ATM is on site.)

You can't get fresher unless you catch it yourself!
Every year we stop by to get "all the clams" for steamed clams (so easy to make yourself!), plus rockfish for panko pan-fry and crab - plus Bill's own cocktail sauce. They're great about cleaning your crabs for you! Salmon, oysters, etc. too. We love Bill's!!!
