View of Haystack
Had dinner here while in town with family. Loved the view of Haystack rock! Our food was delicious- particularly the halibut fish and chips, clam chowder and prawns / pasta. We had great service. Restaurant was reasonably priced and had on-site parking. Only downside - if you love an espresso martini, I would skip this one….other than that, this place was super great!

Very good high end dinner with a lovely view, excellent service
Decided to splurge on a nice dinner with a view (made the online reservation a couple of months prior). The Wayfarer is a local institution, hard to argue with a view of the Haystack. Our server, Jeremy, was excellent, friendly and helpful without smothering. Filet mignon steaks were cooked properly. The house salad was excellent, enjoyed the farm fresh greens, sunflower seeds and berry vinaigrette, beautifully composed. Caesar salads were straightforward, not outstanding. Halibut on risotto was very good, risotto on the tight side. Dinner was $60 per person, without drinks or dessert, worth it for a nice evening out with a Haystack Rock beach view (you also get to people watch). High marks for the overall ambiance and very good food -- would give the Wayfarer a 4.5 if decimals were part of the rating process.

Total Tourist Trap!
What can we say about this total tourist trap...what a waste of our money. First off, the partial view of Haystack is not nearly worth the poorly executed meal at such a high price point. We had possibly the worst crab cakes we've ever experienced (soggy and bland), a mediocre salad, and two entrees that seriously looked and tasted like something you'd get at Denny's. The whole vibe is just cheap, except for the prices. This place seems designed to serve you low cost food at exorbitant prices, to make as much money as they can off every customer. The wine was equally bad -- grocery store quality at high prices. And when the sun goes down, every table gets harsh bright lighting -- we seriously could have performed surgery at our table it was so bright. Much better options in town are Anna's Table or Dritwood...avoid this place at all costs! You've been warned!

Great choice for lunch
We were fortunate to be seated in a window seat with a view of the beach . We had a late lunch of a chicken sandwich ($17) and a Caesar salad with chicken ($19). The chicken sandwich was huge and I could only eat half. Both were very good. The service was good and efficient.

Fantastic view/food/setvice
The guy at our hotel suggested Wayfarer due to good and view. Both are excellent, as is the service. We ate here 3 mornings in a row. Try it, you’ll be happy you did.
