Excellent “hidden gem” breakfast spot in Dallas
To find the best spots, it helps to know the locals. My cousin told me her favorite “breakfast out” in Dallas is here - at Washington Street - and now we can understand why! This eatery is a good example of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” With one side of the building being a bar and the other a restaurant, it’s not much to look at from the exterior for someone who’s never been. I encourage you give it a try! My friend and I shared a vegetarian omelet with hashbrowns and sourdough toast and I was honestly surprised by how delicious it was. The serving size was significant - a perfect meal to split. The veggies were abundant and not overcooked, with a great selection - the mushrooms definitely stood out. Tasty hashbrowns, too. Service was friendly and it was a winning experience all around. Later that morning, my parents also had breakfast here and enjoyed it, each ordering various versions of the “2 egg breakfast.”

Nice local country restaurant - recommended
Great home town diner and steakhouse. Looked like they have good breakfast food and it's served late in the day. I got ribeye. The fries were excellent, steak was adequate, no complaints. Very good service. Seems to be popular with the locals. Just about exactly what I expected.

Great Restaurant in Dallas, OR!
Just wanted to shake things up a little and so we headed down to Dallas, OR for lunch. We were looking for a pub style restaurant, so we chose Washington Street Steakhouse and Pub based on their reviews. We weren't disappointed. We started out with a Lemonade and some Fried Pickles. We'd developed an affinity for fried pickles a couple of years ago. These didn't really live up to our expectations. These were battered pickle spears. Unfortunately when you fry a pickle of and size, they'll get really hot and burn the heck out of your mouth. And this is why fried pickles should be cut in (somewhat) thin slices. :-) This was the only disappointment. I had a Bacon Cheeseburger and the wifey had her go-to Rueben Sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. The burger was of decent size (6 oz) and they didn't skimp on bacon. I might mention that the bacon wasn't fried to a crisp either. It was perfect. The Rueben was made with Pastrami that was chopped up. Definitely a different presentation, but delicious all the same. Lastly the French Fries were great. They were delivered hot and of perfect proportion. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the server. According to our receipt, her name is Isabella. Wow! What a great server! One of the best I've ever experienced. She was handling the floor by herself and she did it with grace. I was so full that I didn't get any dessert. Wah-wah-wah. I should have gotten some to go. I had my eye on their homemade Peanut Butter Pie. Maybe next time!

Great burger and soup
My husband and I split a burger…I’m glad we did. It was huge! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I got a bowl of baked potato soup that was really good. My husband got a salad but I was so full from the burger that I didn’t try it. We were just driving around the area to see if we might like to live around there. Knowing there is a good restaurant is a big plus as far as I’m concerned. Darn, I wish I would have gotten a dessert to go because I’m sure it would have been good. Next time we are near Dallas, we will definitely go back.

Best French Dip I have ever had!
I went to the Washington Street Steakhouse & Pub for lunch, with a colleague, yesterday, 6/10/21. I ordered the French Dip, expecting the usual, same ol sandwich. Well, let me tell you, this sandwich was above par! And it all stems from the meat! The meat was sliced thicker than you would normally find on a French Dip. But MAN, was it tender! From the first bite, to the last, the beef was perfect! Warm & tender and delicious! That was my second visit and I look forward to going back SOON! If the roast beef is that good, I can only imagine how good their steaks are!
