Great food
Totally remodeled. We do take out. Food is delicious Service is great. Not sure if they have opened to in house dining but they got a brand new conveyor belt. So can hardly wait to go back in.

Conveyor belt sushi
Pretty good. Not the best ever but it is good! You can take plates off the belt or you can order a specific roll/app/plate. It’s color coded so you can pick less expensive or more expensive plates. It’s great for someone who wants to try a bunch of different types of sushi and wants to get their feet wet in trying sushi.

Sterile Stark and sushi
Your sushi comes around via a revolving track. Colored dishes reveal the price. Dishes are added up at the end for your bill. A very busy place on a Friday night. Sit in a booth or at the expansive counter. I found the place to be non Japanese. Loud, bright, high ceiling, Stark, fast pace and so-so sushi. There’s nothing intimate about this place. Bathroom similarly stark and cold but clean. Great parking in a strip mall. The bill for 2 was $27. I tipped heavily. The waitresses are slammed but courteous.

The Atmosphere Is The Thing!
Whenever I want to reward one of my kids for getting their next belt in karate, good grades on their report cards, or even less significant accomplishments (like being hungry), you can bet that Sugoi Sushi is their first item of choice. The food is fine. As sushi goes, it's not the Best In Town -- that distinction, after much pondering, would have to go to Tokyo Steakhouse -- but it's not bad sushi either. And yes, some sushi can be very bad (ie, the sushi "trays" at Safeway or Winco, which are as dry and flavorless as seaweed-wrapped horse biscuits). It's all about cost-saving measures. Better cuts of sushi involve thicker cuts of fish, less "krab" and more CRAB, things like that. But all things considered, the sushi at Sugoi is reasonably priced and still quite delectable. The service is great. Many of my former students and current students work (and eat) there. Of course, it's a conveyor-belt place. We need to be honest about that. But we also must muse, in the same breath, that children love the endlessly spiralling belt with the sushi dishes that go round and round, and little hands grab quickly for whatever treat they've got their eye on. While many of us older kids (aka: "adults") might find sushi-serving contraptions gimmicky and even annoying, what child does not love to watch colorful little dishes take a spin around the universe while they nurse their favorite Japanese soda? And the atmosphere is so convivial. Always cool and fun on a hot summer day, or warm and welcoming in the winter (given enough sake). I love Sugoi Sushi. To hell with "family dining" experiences that involve fried food and frozen pie! I know my kids will always say: "Make Mine Sugoi!" And that just makes me have to say it, too.

Fun dining experience, nice helpful staff, mixed feelings
Overall, I enjoyed our experience - I like watching the food going by, guessing and picking. The food was good and the wait staff was helpful and attentive. I was a little disappointed at the variety on the conveyor belt. But, when we asked about items - they were quick to make them for us. Also, most of the seafood is the 'fake crab.' The most disturbing thing - sitting there for over an hour watching the water in the sink run at close to full force. When I asked - they said they were defrosting something... Not really how things should be defrosted.
