The staff are welcoming, the coffee is good and the servings are large. I had the eggs scrambled with green peppers and sausage, with a gravy biscuit on the side. More than I could eat. The waitress kept my coffee cup full. I plan on going back for breakfast tomorrow!

Pleasant place for breakfast with the locals
Traveling through La Grande, we looked for a non-chain restaurant for breakfast and stumbled on The Smokehouse. It was filled with locals (we looked like the only tourists) but were greeted warmly and the coffee came quickly. Breakfast had a lot of great choices (note: don't come here is you don't like large servings). My wife had "Sonny's" (French Toast with bacon) while I had the Meat and Eggs (in my case, Sausage and eggs) which came with hashbrowns, and toast. Portions were huge (we could have split one) but were nice and hot when they arrived. Prices were reasonable and service was good!

Food average (Better than a Shari’s or Denny’s.). VERY large servings. Coffee a lil weak for our tastes. Would eat here again if visiting. We were passing through only.

Service was good at first, refilling coffee. Breakfast took forever to get and then it was luke warm and sausages weren’t cooked all the way.

Very quiet clean restaurant
They had good service. The waitress was very attentive, it was not busy and not fancy, but very good meals.
