This was my favorite restaurant when vacationing in Lincoln City. In fact we went back a second time it was so good. The crab cakes were outstanding. The cioppino had a lot of seafood in it could have been a little spicier but delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. Salads are really fresh and loved the one with fresh hazelnuts grown in Oregon. The couple we were with also ordered the lamb chops and they had a lot of meat and looked plentiful. You need reservations if you want a good seat.

A tip from the waiter?
Not that kind of tip. Mike who was wonderful from start to finish told us about the happy hour at 330. Half price burgers including the halibut fish sandwich! We will have to check it out. Soon. If I’m wrong I’ll pull this review. The reason is we had a halibut fish sandwich and it was to die for! Giant piece of grilled fish that didn’t want to stay in the bun. Also had the seasonal salmon on a fresh salad. A lot of flavor pairings clearly crafted by pros. Salmon, halibut burger, 4 cocktails and a desert to go: 120$

Great for special occasions and great food
Excellent food, excellent service. We went on a Thursday at 5:30 and it wasn't crowded. By the time we had finished eating, around 7, it was full. There were many choices and price points to fit many budgets. My wife had the panko-encrusted halibut and I had the bouillabaisse, both of which were excellent. We had leftovers. We took home a marionberry crumble with ice cream which was very tasty when we had it the next day. The service was attentive and friendly. All in all, an enjoyable experience, something we will do again. Previously, we would get dessert there for takeout. My favorite is the key lime pie.

Our favorite
We always try to visit this restaurant when we are in the area. The food, service and atmosphere are excellent. A thoughtfully planned menu should please everyone in your party.

A gem in Gleneden Oregon. Side Door Café is a main event destination
We visited Side Door on the recommendation of our AirBnb property owner who commented that it was amazing for special occasions. We are on the holiday of a lifetime starting in Boston, travelling via New York, visiting friends; Dallas to visit family; Mariposa for a family wedding and now a road trip to Seattle and an Alaskan cruise to end. So, the Side Door....modest from the outside but spectacular inside. Professional and thoroughly pleasant staff made the whole dinner even more enjoyable. We skipped starters, thankfully, and selected the salmon and the halibut mains. One word...sensational. Delicious. Ok that's 2 words. Can't recommend this highly enough. Do not miss the chance to visit this gem.
