We ate at the Pub on Saturday, Feb. 18 around 5pm, Busy place! Excellent food but short staffed, I would have given this place 5 stars if it was more relaxing. We were seated within a few minutes. Waited a bit for food, but not too bad for how busy they were. The gal (long dark hair) working the register, bussing tables, taking orders, getting beverages and bringing out the food was very polite for how overworked she was. Seemed to be on her own. We felt bad for her. Hope they get more help before it gets busier in the season. She did an excellent job, I’d hate to see her leave from burnout. They switched to-To go orders only, just before we left. Tables were full and people kept coming in and waiting and leaving. The food was excellent! Nothing fancy but good!
Went on line and said they closed at 8pm but it is president day they might close early we got there before 630 and the guy at the bar said they were closed frustrated wanted some food lol poor review for poor communication
Arrived about 6:30 on Friday the 13th. I had checked hours on the website and daily hours were 8;00 closing. We walked through the door and were told we are about to close and we are doing take out only… not great if you are in a motel. I said your webpage says 8….oh sorry we are just closing. They didn’t say we ran out of food, or we are short handed. …we are just closing. Went to our car and there were three of them sitting by the counter visiting. I have enjoyed this place in the past ….with this experience I can no longer count on them being open. Sorry to say I won’t be returning. There are lots of other places with great food that are open when they are have a regular schedule.
Simple menu, very good food! We had a 3 piece cod basket and a 3 piece halibut basket. They virtually tasted the same, but both were very good. Waitress was friendly and outgoing! Restaurant had a classic diner feel! Definitely worth stopping for lunch or dinner!
The food was all homemade and very tasty. The service was excellent. Thanks for a great lunch on our 26th anniversary. The chowder was really good.
