Fish and chips were very fishy. The fish batter was more like a Panko bread seasoning and not dipped. The chicken fried chicken texture was weird and they didn’t use country gravy. Not the best food!

Wow. I’ve never had fish and chips where there was more fish than chips! And the fish—halibut for me, cod for my son—was so fresh and tasty. Really good fries. Jaden our server was pleasant, capable, and attentive. Unpretentious atmosphere, plenty of screens to watch the games.

Best clam chowder!
We visited Newport for two nights and ended up going to Off The Hook twice - the chowder is THAT good! Friendly staff and convenient location near the aquarium and other things to do.

I made a big mistake to visit this place. First of all. The supervisor Ann need to be fired immediately. She disrespect me, wife and friends. She lied and denied that she charged us twice. I show her that I was charged twice. And she didn't day a word. I ask to speak with the owner and she said he is not available. After 6 days they refunding my money and waisted my time and energy without apology. If you need someone teat you like nothing and steal your money. Then this is the perfect place for you!

BEWARE! DO NOT USE CREDIT CARDS THERE!
BEWARE!!! They double charged us, and when we went to let them know what happened they said that it was a preauthorization and should fall off on Monday. (This is a Door Dash debit card, so Door dash cannot do anything since they are not a financial institution.) Monday came and gone and now is Tuesday and it's posted 2 identical charges. Spoke with ANN, very rude, told us it did not happen, even though I have emailed them the proof. She hung up the phone on us. We called back and she hung up the phone once again. IDK what proof they need besides the posted transactions, but we will take this to the Consumer Federal Protection Bureau. Asked who the owner or GM is, she hung up the phone once again. Be very careful using your CC there. If anything, use cash. This restaurant will steal your money off your credit card, then lie about it. BEWARE!! I have attached the proof of transaction in the comment section.
