Opened in 2001, Los Potrillos Mexican Restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and has a reputation of EXCELLENT food and service. This place has a quite, mellow environment that complements perfectly with their traditional Mexican dishes. The margaritas are home made and are a must have.

Outstanding service and tasty food! Worth multiple trips
I had seen the reviews, many good, some less so. The hotel I stayed at suggested it. I was glad I did. The service was impeccable to the point it was a bit much. Not only was I attended to quickly, but every few minutes, someone came over to ask if I needed more tortillas or more chips & salsa. My server Leticia came over a few times, but some other guy, maybe a maître d, literally seemed to swing by every 3-4 minutes. It was more attention than I have received at some high end restaurants. The food was very good. I had the Samba plate, which was filling and left me with enough to take home for lunch tomorrow. They also had an intriguing drink that was half margarita and half corona. Not something I would have thought of but definitely drinkable! I would go there again!

Wow! Great food and service!
As most of you know, I have been looking for the best border food in Klamath Falls. This restaurant always seems busy, and when I came by for lunch on Monday it was no exception. Most of them were at the bar however, so I got excellent service from Blanca. She brought me chips and salsa which were fresh and tasty. To her credit she didn't mind my spagish and asked if I wanted spicier salsa. I order my usual test meal...a Chile relleno and enchilada. I asked for an egg on top of the enchilada. I was no problem. The food was excellent. The relleno had a batter crust on it, it was a real traditional green Chile that had been properly prepared. The enchilada had too much chicken in it was my only complaint. I like it to be slathered in red Chile sauce and cheese, but that may be just a personal preference being from Nuevo Mexico. Overall it is some of the best Mexican food to be eaten here. I'm going back.

Disappointed
To be avoided: best called Mexican Cantina food out of big jugs and prepared in the microwave and ahead of time. Absolutely horrified, when food came out and looked like days old leftovers microwaved for 2-3 minutes. Ingredients like rice and beans were tasteless and old, beef wasn't drained and created a nasty puddle on my plate..didn't taste like anything either..I guess the huge slop of cheese, again microwaved, placed on the meat tortillas was way too much, not melted enough and overall disgusting..for 2 people, 40$ down and I wouldn't feed that to my animals. I should have listened to my instincts and left, when they said they were dead. The staff tastes their own food, so how can you served this to a customer with good conscience?? I'm not a chef, but I've made this meal many times..and worked in hospitality all my life, so, how dare you take big $$ for something so appalling, you obviously didn't put any effort in creating a fresh or tasty meal. I have a microwave at home..I'll try the frozen burrito from the store next and I bet it has more flavour and is much cheaper.. I understand, when business is slow, food gets cooked for several days at the time.., but whoever is in charge, should make sure it's spiced and not microwaved so long, that my beans are turned around the edges.. Anyhow, sorry for the bad review, but that's the truth. If I can spare anyone from wasting their hard earned money, I will. Be better! We deserve it!!

Excellent!!!
Excellent dinner! We had the taco salad with chicken and it was great. It was too much to eat. Had to leave about 1/2 of it, just too much for my tummy. We also had the chicken salad and asked if they could put a few beans in it and it was perfect. The young man that waited on us was quick and accommodating. We told him the lady at Best Western recommended them. He said we would get a 10% discount if we showed the cashier our key card but we forgot. Oh well. Rather than redo the whole transaction we just told her to forget it and to give it to the waiter and add it to his tip if she wants. He was worth it. Thankfully we were leaving as the crowds started pouring in. Go early if you go. Beat the crowd.

Good food, a bit overpriced
Went there for a family dinner, service was prompt and friendly. Typical, yet completed menu for this type of restaurant. Seems kinda pricey, but since COVID all eateries have up their prices. Would go back.
