Great special occasion restaurant
We made reservations for 9 for my mom’s 80th birthday dinner. We sat in an upstairs area that was quiet, which worked perfectly for hearing issues. The food was excellent, service very thoughtful. The halibut was cooked perfectly and was delicious, same for lamb and duck dishes. We had a yummy rose with dinner. Would highly recommend for a special occasion and everyone from age 8 to 80 had a great time!

Not Returning
Response to the Owner's comments. This was our second visit to this restaurant. And we did send back food and let our waitress (who was very good) know it was not acceptable as it was way overcooked and/or burned. Every diner in the restaurant knew we sent our food back as the Chef was yelling about it from the kitchen and we could all hear him. We had a similar experience the first time we ate here - burned food - with the addition of poor service as the waitress that time was too busy paying all her attention to regulars. We won't be back. There are plenty of great places to eat in Cannon Beach - this is not one of them.

Honoring John Newman so well
We enjoyed dining at Newman's 988 several times over the years and were so saddened to learn of the owner/chef's sudden death a few years ago. Earlier this year, his former restaurant was reopened by many of the same staff, featuring many of the same menu offerings. We had a fantastic dinner tonight at the new Little Yellow House that honored John Newman so well. The salads, entrees, and dessert were all wonderfully prepared in a way that tasted both old-world and elegant. The service was warm and friendly, the ambiance cozy and welcoming, and the wine list was creative and fun. Absolutely a must if you are looking for a memorable, delicious dinner in Cannon Beach.

Wonderful
This restaurant used to be Newmans 88 and was a favorite of ours, but the chef died. We returned this year with a little trepidation but if anything it was lovelier than ever, Service is gracious and warm, the music is romantic and classic, and the food was out of this world, My Pinot Noir was perfect, as was my Apple, Gorgonzola and walnut salad, and my duck a l’orange was fabulous. My husband’s rack of lamb was perfect too. We shared a blissful pumpkin ice cream dessert. Don’t miss this gem of a restaurant.

Nice birthday dinner for my wife
Tiny little spot behind the hotel we stayed in. I had another reservation and because it was or first night in from traveling we did not want to walk very far for dinner. Hostess got us right in upstairs at 8pm. The food was very good. Polenta appetizer, soups and grilled romaine. The mains of Halibut and Lamb were also good. the dishes were all missing just a touch of salt otherwise it would have been perfect. Dessert was also good and they had a reasonably priced wine list. Service was very good and the pace was nice to actually enjoy a good date night. Other than the obnoxious table next to us talking about how Pete Buttigieg would maker a great president after Kamala's 8 years. LMAO.
