I have been to the Hilltop numerous times. Not often but, numerous. I have always found the steaks to be the best in this area. Expensive, (hence not often) but I have always enjoyed the food. This evening, while waiting for our order, I witnessed one of the kitchen staff walk into the restroom while wearing black nitrile gloves. He walked out of the bathroom wearing black Nitrile gloves. Gloves in a professional kitchen are a single use item. To me this is more than concerning. A short time later, I witnessed the same employee walk to the bathroom again wearing black nitrile gloves and return from the bathroom wearing black nitrile gloves. Now, I am more than concerned about the quality of "ingredients" being served. I went into the bathroom just to make sure I wasn't over reacting and looked in the cabinet under the sink. No gloves. Not even an empty box. I walked out and asked to speak with the chef in charge. My plan was to talk quietly on the side and inform him of what I had seen. He apparently was too busy or didn't care and never came out of the kitchen. I wont be back. That's not what I'm looking for in the seasoning of my meal. Unbelievable, it's 2 months from 2026 and people still don't wash their hands after using the restroom.

Cant say enough good things about the service. We had tired kids and they really went the extra effort to keep everyone happy. Food was great too.

Sumptuous Seafood & Ambience
Celebrated a friend's 50th Birthday in style! Rains cleared and the sun lighted our way to a beautiful window table. )Baseboard heaters warmed our enjoyment of wine, clam chowder and fresh seafood. Be it the Halibut Caserol or the Pastitsio, seafood lasagna, the mix of fresh Dungeness Crab with either Halibut or Scallops was certainly a palate pleaser. And a complimentary chocolate delight for the honored guest. Best wishes were sung at several tables as the best time and meal at Hillside House is a great gift!

Excellent Service & Food
The server we had was excellent, and very helpful and attentive. She checked with us to see if we needed anything, and got the check to us with perfect timing (approx 7 minutes after were finished dessert) and told us to take our time and no hurry when presented with the check. Love it! The food (Jumbo Prawns) were excellent as usual, the the Ribeye Steak Sandwich was excellent as well. 'We ate in the lounge area which is very cozy and nice.
