Mixed bag
We all came to Gogi's last April for a celebration, and it was excellent. Expensive, but excellent. So we were all excited to have another celebration and picking Gogi's as the place to go to was an easy decision. It started out great. The charcuterie board was fun, with interesting things to sample. I especially liked the mustard with the raspberry on top. The amuse bouche was just okay. A tiny sliver of bread with a whipped cheese on top? I'm not sure it was cheese because it was pretty bland. But there was a green dip (lemon pesto?) that was delicious and there was plenty of bread to enjoy it with. Then the entrees arrived. This was a very mixed bag. One of our party had the Smoked Salmon Carbonara. The flavor was good, but the pieces of salmon were small and I think he was expecting a filet of salmon, so it's not fair to complain about this to Gogi's. He did like it. Another in our party had the Lemon-Herb Ricotta Ravioli Rosette. It comes out as ONE ravioli, about the size of an orange. I think she didn't understand the "rosette" part and was expecting normal ravioli. She also said she enjoyed it, but I think it was too weird for her and she didn't finish it. Again, I don't know if I can blame the restaurant for that. But we had the Dry Aged Ribeye Steak. It was ordered medium rare, it arrived medium. Ribeye is usually a rather fatty, but very tender, cut of meat. This steak had no fat and, unforgivably, was tough and chewy! I was amazed. And it was $70 for it. Insult to injury. The cocktails were all good. We didn't have dessert. The did bring some Cinamon-Citrus Macarons. They tasted only of cinnamon and the texture was dry and crunchy instead of the more tender and chewy bite one expects with a macaron. The service was excellent. We left disappointed and I don't think we will be having any other celebrations there, which is hard to say.

Impressive menu, mediocre implementation.
Risotto should pool in a bowl not stand up in a ring mold. The brandade was mid. Beets too much bad truffle oil. Pear salad not enough pear. Chocolate mousse dessert was amazing though.

Casual Fine Dining
We were passing through Medford on the way to Portland and went to the restaurant Gogi's. It's totally worth the trip. Everything was delicious. Our salads had the best of the season's produce. My husband said the porkchop was the best he's ever had. My salmon was perfectly done. Not only were we served an Amuse-bouche but a complimentary macaroon at the end of the meal. Fine dining without being stuffy. The only drawback was that the place is very small and there was a really loud table. Fortunately, they left midway through our dinner. Would definitely go back if we're through the area. Thanks Tripadvisor for the suggestion!

Just go. It's really good. All of it. Waiter Matt was great. I have to use more characters- quit reading and go. Just go. Oh the drinks......

Horrible food prep, unless you like hair and entire salt shaker…
Hair in soup, noticed after many mouthfuls. Apologized for it. Ordered Bolognese and it tasted like the lid came off the salt shaker, burnt the roof of my mouth, ankles swelled a bit next day. Apologized and took 1/2 off. Seems there’s zero quality control. At their prices they could do better. Bad night or standard practice? I can tell you I’ll never know because I wouldn’t go back to find out.
