Ocean view, good cocktails
Ocean view, good cocktails. My wife had the ribeye which was tender with mouthwatering flavor. I had the raw tuna which was seared and had a flavorful sauce with a salsa . We both had cocktails with my wife having a specialty margarita and I had their own old fashion. They were both out of the ordinary. The Ocean view was a bonus.

Great view, but no reason to eat here after sundown
The view in this place is excellent during daylight hours, but the rest of the experience isn't worth your time or dollar. The food felt on par with what you'd get at a TGI Fridays or other QSR, as did the service. It will work in a pinch, but given the rates charged here it's probably best to go elsewhere. Once it's dark outside, you can't see anything out the windows anyway. Just skip it for dinner. We ordered a pasta dish and a fish n chips. The pasta came out overly sweet, sugar being the dominant note in the sauce. The Fish n Chips - typically something that's easy to hit a certain quality baseline for - was undercooked and rubbery. Service was slow, and the upselling felt aggressive. Our server mentioned it this was the last night they would be "serving bread for free." I get the sense that sort of aggressive price optimization is what defines this restaurant's vision today more than anything else.

Best restaurant in Newport
My black cod was prepared perfectly, as was my husband’s crab stuffed avocado. I think my oyster shooters were still in the ocean that morning! Be sure to ask what’s on the “fresh board” and skip the rest. I think every table has a view of the ocean and it’s gorgeous. We were at the Hallmark Resort, which is attached to the restaurant. If you’re planning to imbibe it’s great to be able to “walk home.”

Great Food As Always
Always one of the best restaurants on the Oregon Coast! Everything we've had there was great. We make the trek from Portland (2 1/2 hour drive) several times a year. The ocean side of the restaurant has lots of big windows for clear views of the ocean and beach below. Best clam chowder on the coast. Lots of vegetarian options as well. The service is always friendly. Wait times vary on time of day, and time of year. The prices are a little higher than some family restaurants, but the food is higher quality than budget places.
