Santa Maria Tri-Tip on a Friday; consistently yummy every time
What can I say? I've been lax at posting a review even though I have been here numerous times over the past few years. Friday night's special is Santa Maria Tri-Tip. The meat is slow cooked over an oak wood fire and, in my opinion, is some of the best tri-tip I have ever had. Each time I eat there, the meat tastes pretty much the same so I know it is cooked in a consistent fashion. The meal comes with 1/4 lb of meat of which you can order an additional 1/4 lb of meat (called the two-meat meal). Two sides are available along with a roll or cornbread. I highly recommend the corn bread/honey butter. Everything is home made. On this night, I was seated right away even without a reservation. It took 10 or so minutes but my meal came out nice and hot. They will serve it with homemade barbeque sauce or horseradish, but neither is necessary as the meat is well seasoned. The owner, Sandy will come around and greet you as he has time. He's the primary smoker although he is teaching others his craft so the restaurant can continue should he decide to retire. Both he and his wife work at the restaurant. The cost of the meal is $28 with an extra $2 for the tri-tip meat. Everything is gluten free and there are vegan options available as well. This place is also known for their desserts. I've never been disappointed in eating here.

Expensive - We will visit again but, for special occasions.
Stars - 3.98 Stars Area - Feel -4.5 Atmosphere -4.5 Cleanliness - 4.5 Food - 2.9 Services - 5 Value - 2.5 Percentage Of Perfection 80% Possible Score - 30 Actual Score - 23.50 This is a totally gluten free restaurant. My wife is totally gluten free and I am not. During this review we will point out who was eating what. When: February Atmosphere: This place has a great feel. Cleanliness: Very clean in all areas we observed. Food: Fries - Not a large amount and was charged extra, for the substitution. Taste was average (not GF eater). (3 Stars) BBQ Pork Sandwich - Did not like the bun. The meat was wonderful, but had a small amount of meat on it. (not GF eater) 3 stars Tacos - My wife who is 100% GF loved it. 5 stars Ordered a Pepsi and it was $4.50. 1 Star way too expensive. Cinnamon roll - My wife stated it was just OK. 2.5 Stars Service: It was amazing - Remi was great. She gave us 2 free cookies. The owner stopped by and said hi. Value: Our bill with tip was $60 which is higher than we would usually want to spend for lunch. Love the idea, feel, and service here. Although it would be better if it wasn’t so expensive like $4.50 for a glass of pepsi. We will visit again but, for special occasions.

Wonderful food & service
Great stop heading home! We had amazing service! Loved getting our free cookies on our first visit. Everything tasted great. Our bbq plate was delicious. I’ve been gluten free a while & they do a great job of making their food taste gluten full!

Thumbs up!
Highly recommend this completely gluten free restaurant. Wonderful barbecue and all the North American comfort foods, tacos, hearty salads. We pre-ordered their Christmas meal fixings this year and will repeat it next year! The turkey was the moistest, most delicious ever! Gravy and stuffing and desserts were very tasty. Our whole family are enjoying leftovers of pumpkin roll, turkey and gravy. Being able to preorder allowed us all to relax and play and take the kids' minds off the presents for a moment before opening them.

Good Food, watch the extra surcharge!
I've always had good food here. Today was a stop just to get an order togo. Staff was friendly, food came out quickly. Even though it was take out, i tipped because I appreciate what they are doing. When I got home I noticed a 10% up charge for 'temporary inflation'. That is both cowardly, and inappropriate. If you want to make a surcharge for the pleasure of frequenting your establishment, post it on the front door so we know. Better yet, increase the price of your goods so when we look at the menu we get a clear picture of the pricing. The 'Petite Plate' (smoked meat, mashed potatoes, cornbread) was $17.95, the Key Lime bar was $6.45, while seems pretty high for a petite portion, it was the price I agreed to. I think it fairly tacky to include a 10% surcharge just for being in your establishment.
