We are pleased to say that our second visit to Colvin's since our pre-COVID visit found it still offering good food. Yes, Colvin's could be characterized as a small town "greasy spoon" sort of place, but that reflects the physical appearance of the restaurant/bar and not the quality of the food. Frankly, we enjoy the "atmosphere" as a break from the saneness and blandness of chains and franchises. On this visit we had a taste for fish-n-chips. Colvin's offers both halibut and cod. We tried both, and found both very good to excellent. Both the fish and the accompanying fries were crispy and fresh tasting. I particularly like the house made tarter sauce. Service was also very good.
The smoked brisket was awesome, had the Melt and the Dip, tasty, hot and perfect! Staff was attentive
The place has some massive and delicious burgers. Their fries are also really good. A nice place to eat at after Beaver Falls or other nearby hikes.
I called in an order to be picked up. I ordered from their online menu. One dinner was $12 and the other was $10. When she read me the total I thought I heard it wrong. She quoted me $41.20. When I arrived to pick up my order she said the same total again and I about freaked out. She stated the menu had recently been changed so the old one was still on the web. When I got home with the surprise dinner for my husband and I his Fried Chicken consisted of three extremely small pieces a small dinner roll a naked baked potato which I had requested loaded. The fettuccine alfredo with salmon was good but certainly not worth $20. They typically have pretty good food but to jack up the prices that high in a small town doesn't make sense.
Had breakfast at Colvins with a group of friends. Very accommodating for a large group. Great food. Be hungry or ready to ask for a to go box with the large portions. If you’re passing through Clatskanie I recommend checking out Colvins.
